College Application Week 2011

2011 marked the first statewide "College Application and Exploration Week" initiative. Sixty-five high schools and four YMCAs participated in the initiative, which was aimed at encouraging low-income and first-generation students to explore their options for postsecondary education and to apply to the state's two-year and four-year colleges and universities.

LINKS is a grade 5-12 state student advisement model that provides implementation tools, curriculum maps and web-based lesson plans to enhance academic, career and personal-social development for all West Virginia middle and high school students.

Roads to Success is a guided curriculum designed to integrate college- and career-planning resources within classroom lessons and mentor programs. RTS offers innovative strategies to help young people forge connections between their school experiences and their aspirations for adulthood.
