  • Serves as a member of an LP/OP (listening/observation post) while employing principles of cover and concealment
  • Gathers information on the size, activity, location, unit, time, and equipment of the enemy
  • Performs or manages reconnaissance of fording sites, tunnels, and bridges, and reports on information collected
  • Maintains responsibility for individual weapons, crew-served weapons, and the maintenance of assigned vehicle and equipment
  • Manages distribution and adjusts direct and aerial fires in combat
  • Employs operations security (OPSEC) and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) measures
  • Coordinates and conducts platoon resupply
