Got a question about college planning? Ask Faith! Ask Faith a question.

Dear Faith: I'm a junior in high school. I want to go to college, but my grades are only satisfactory. Should I apply anyway?

Faith says: The answer is yes, you should apply!  And while you still have some time, do your best to improve your grades. Can you identify your problem areas?Do you have poor study habits? Are you struggling with a particular subject or class? Maybe a tutor or joining a study group can help you.

Seek support from your teachers or school counselor and let them know that you want to improve your grades and chances for college-- ask for suggestions. Your grades in addition to the personal essay, support letters and SAT scores tell the college admissions officer about you the person before they meet with you.

Good luck to you!
