Esthetician
As an esthetician, building a relationship with your clients is
very important. Communication plays a big part.
You are meeting with
a new client today. She has not been to your spa before. You are going to
start a file for her and you need some personal information. Here's how you
could introduce and explain your questions:
"I understand
your concerns! I would wonder the same thing in your position. The skin care
procedures I provide can help to improve the look of your skin. But your overall
health is the most important thing. Some of the treatments we
use here at the spa can increase health risks if you are using a certain type
of drug.
"For example, we use aloe in many of our treatments. Aloe
has a lot of great benefits for the skin. But if you are taking anti-arrhythmic
medication for the heart, you should talk to your doctor before using aloe
treatments.
"We take the privacy of your medical information very
seriously. But we must insist that you share with us information about any
allergies or medications. Once we are on the same page about your health needs,
you can sit back and relax. Please take this time to ask me any questions
you have about my services too."
"They feel a lot more
comfortable if they know what to expect, and can vocalize any concerns. Then
they can relax. The spa is all about the experience, and you want to ensure
their experience is a good one," says Krista Nugent. She is an esthetician
and make-up artist.
