Thank you for your interest in BridgeValley Community and Technical College! Are you ready to earn your degree, enhance your career or learn something new? BridgeValley has courses and programs to help you achieve your academic goals. Our two campuses (Montgomery, WV and South Charleston, WV) and Advanced Technology Center offer convenience and a hands-on learning environment. Our associate degree and certificate programs, distance learning and online courses offer a strong educational foundation for students looking to enter the workforce or enter a four-year college.

General Admission Policy

BridgeValley Community and Technical College is an open door admission institution that admits individuals as regular students with a high school diploma or GED/TASC. Students may be admitted on a conditional basis that display an ability to benefit from a college education and will be guided through the educational process.

Admission Procedures

After reading the instructions, please complete the online application as thoroughly as possible. Print and mail the Application Agreement Statement that appears after you have submitted your application. We do not require an application fee.

Applying as a First-Time Freshmen

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. Request your high school or state GED/TASC Office to have an official high school transcript or GED/TASC scores sent to the Office of Admissions.
  3. Take the ACT or SAT test for scholarship and state financial aid eligibility. The ACT or SAT is not required for admission to BridgeValley. However, some selected health programs will require it for admission to the program. If you do not have ACT or SAT scores, you will be required to take a placement exam (Accuplacer) to determine math and English course placement.

Applying as a Transfer Student

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. Request an official transcript from all previous colleges attended to be sent to the Office of Admissions.  If you have earned less than 15 credit hours from all previous colleges, you are also required to submit an official high school transcript or GED/TASC score.

Applying as a Readmission Student

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. If you have attended any other college since last being enrolled at BridgeValley, please request an official transcript from the previous college(s) to be sent to the Office of Admissions.

Applying as a Transient Student

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. Request and submit a Transient Approval Form from home institution.

Applying as a Non-degree Student

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. NOTE: Students applying as non-degree students are not eligible to receive financial aid.

Applying as a High School Student

  1. Complete and submit this online application for admission.
  2. Request an official high school transcript be sent to the Office of Admission.
  3. Complete and submit a Consent Form (signed by Principal/Counselor and Parent).
