Real-Life Decision Making

You have enough money saved up to expand your orchard. The more fruit trees you have, the more profit you will be able to make when it comes time to harvest. But what type of trees should you grow?

You are considering planting more Jon-a-Golds, a juicy variety of apple that is a cross between a Jonathon and a Golden Delicious. You have been growing this variety for a few years, and have had great success with them in your climate.

But do you need more Jon-a-Golds? At the end of the year, you already have a few bags left over that you've been unable to sell at the roadside fruit stand.

In addition, people who drop by your fruit stand say that they would be interested in trying a different type of apple. You research new varieties, and find that they might be more difficult to grow than the Jon-a-Golds.

It is important to make the right decision because if you choose the wrong fruit, then you may have difficulty growing it, and have no crop to sell. If you take the safe route and plant more Jon-a-Golds, you might have trouble finding new buyers.

What do you do?
