Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Here's what you could write:

UNIFORM: "Uniform" can be either a noun meaning clothing worn by everyone in a given group or an adjective meaning "consistent" or "the same." That gives you two interrelated meanings to try on in your clue. "Suits everyone," perhaps?

DOG DAYS: "Dog days" are the hottest days of the summer, so called because they arrived when Sirius, the Dog Star, could be seen in the night sky. When most people think of dogs, however, they usually think of ones closer to home. "Canine heat wave" could be one possible clue.

TITANIC: "Titanic" literally means "huge" or "colossal." But after the hit movie, the word now conjures up associations with the passenger liner that sank on its very first voyage in 1912. A clue that's really on course would make use of both senses of the word. What about "Briefly big in 1912"?
