Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You decide to drop the course and take the job. After all, you could use the money.

You leave the course and start working. In no time at all, you're able to make enough money to buy your daughter a bicycle. Things are going well.

But after a month on the job, your supervisor tells you they don't have any more work. You don't have any other customers at the moment, so you think that maybe now is the time to continue with your training course. The trouble is, now you're right back where you started.

At least you have the option to go back, but you can't help feeling that you've wasted time. The winter's here and you could be renovating the interior of homes. So, you take the course and wait for busy summer season. At least you'll be prepared for next winter.

"The work can be unsteady; you have to be prepared," says Darel Kaldec, a carpenter in Utah.
