Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You go with the second suggestion.

Some people may agree with you on this decision. Does every old building need to be saved?

You think that it's just as important to erect modern buildings that function well, are environmentally heated and provide clean and enjoyable workspaces for employees.

However, many heritage buildings are important to people and are city landmarks. Is this theater perhaps one of these buildings?

Jeffery Howe is a professor of architectural history. He says that finding a compromise is often difficult. He says that cost is a factor.

"Demolishing everything is a cost-effective plan for many developers," he says. But he questions the historic value of this act.

He also says that many people are now leaving building facades and demolishing everything behind them. "Developers might like this solution too because it's easier, but you have to question it morally," he says. "It's all about finding resolution between the ideal and necessity."
