Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Here are some questions you could ask:

  • Where was the tree planted? How much sunlight did it get?
  • What time of year was the tree planted?
  • What is the acidic content of your soil?
  • How often was the tree watered?
  • Was fertilizer applied? What kind?
  • Did you use any pesticide on or near the tree?
  • What steps did you take when you planted it?

"There are so many factors affecting the life and health of trees and plants," says horticulturist and turf specialist Bob Dobson.

"Often, people aren't aware of how delicate the balance can be, so you have to know what questions to ask to find out what went wrong."
