Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You continue to plant, figuring that you can walk down the hill in the growing dark.

You have no problem getting the trees in the soft soil. When your pack is empty, you turn and head down the hill.

You can see the van in the distance, so you aren't too alarmed that you may have to descend partway in the dark. Suddenly, you trip over a rock and turn over on your ankle.

You yelp in pain, and members of your crew have to venture into the darkness to find and assist you. "You have to make a lot of decisions. Depending on the type of ground, you plant different trees," says Yolanda Wolters. She is a worker at a reforestation company.

"But you also have to decide if the work is too dangerous. On occasion, you may have to just turn around."
