Real-Life Decision Making

You are 20 years old and you love to play golf. By this point, you know that a future touring the pro golf circuit just isn't in the cards. However, you would like to earn a living making custom golf clubs for other golf enthusiasts.

All your research tells you that the market for custom golf clubs is going to keep growing. People are tired of buying standard-size clubs that do not take individual size and playing ability differences into account. You believe that you can make a good living helping people improve their scores in the game you love.

There are two problems, however. The first is your age. People don't seem to think that a person just a few years out of high school can run their own business.

The second is your playing ability. Local golf pros argue that, to succeed in this business, you must be a scratch golfer. A scratch golfer is someone who has no handicap. They consistently play at par, which is the maximum number of strokes it should take for a skilled golfer to complete the course.

With a 12 handicap, you still have a ways to go before you can hope to play par. Still, you honestly believe that you can help other people.

What do you do?
