Real-Life Decision Making

The time has come to sell off one of your horses. Sometimes money is tight and you have to make tough decisions as a horse rancher.

You've narrowed the "sell" list down to two of your beasts:

Swanky Charlie is a seven-year-old thoroughbred gelding. Although far from a perfect horse, he is strong, big-boned and very quick on his feet. You have decided that he is expendable largely due to the fact that he is often stubborn and lazy. Although he hasn't won any races in his life, he has enormous potential. As is, he is the very picture of health and worth every penny of the $3,900 asking price.

Nature's Wayis a four-year-old mare. Unfortunately, she is quite slow and in need of professional training. She is expendable due to the fact that she has very little show or racing potential. Simply put, she is a plain, run-of-the-mill mare with very little to offer an owner. Nonetheless, she would make an excellent starting horse for a beginning to intermediate rider. The asking price here is $2,450.

What do you do?
