A = Finalize blueprints = 2 weeks
B = Demolish unneeded old walls = 3 weeks
C = Finalize contracts with subcontractors = 2 weeks
D = Frame new walls = 4 weeks
E = Install heating, ventilation and air conditioning = 1 week
(This would include things like putting in heat registers and air ducts)
F = Install plumbing where needed = 3 weeks
G = Install electrical wiring in the walls, such as electrical switches and plug-ins = 5 weeks
H = Finish the walls by putting plaster over them = 2 weeks
This makes the drawing a little clearer. A, finalizing the blueprints, must be completed before any real work can begin. B, demolishing unneeded old walls, must be completed before the new walls can be framed. C, finalizing contracts, can be done at the same time as B and D, framing new walls.
G, installing electrical wiring, takes longer than either installing plumbing or electrical wiring. But even though you're trying to finish the project in the shortest time possible, that period of time must be allowed for, because you can't plaster the walls until everything else is completed.
E and F -- installing heating and electrical -- can be completed at the same time as G, and will be finished sooner.

2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 2 = 16
