Real-Life Decision Making

You have to decide which software programs are best for your school. To do this, you have to stay current with what is being developed. You have to keep up with the changes.

You could go back to school full time for upgrading. You would have to take a leave of absence from work to do that. Or you can take online courses in your spare time.

However, you don't necessarily have to enroll in courses. You can keep up on the information by following technical blogs and forums. You can attend day workshops rather than spend a lot of money on full-term courses.

Your school has a small budget for professional development, but it isn't enough to cover the costs of enough courses to increase your certification. If you want to do that, the money will have to come out of your own pocket.

What do you do?
