Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You stay informed by doing your own research.

You already have years of technological training. You feel you don't need any further certification. You figure you can stay on top of things via the Internet and other media.

"One must be able to troubleshoot any number of problems that occur on a daily basis, and have an understanding of what the stressed-out user is talking about when a desperate phone call occurs," says Dave Betts. He is a school technology coordinator.

After a few months, you realize it is not as easy to stay current as you had hoped. Other coordinators that you have talked to, who have taken the courses, seem more informed. They are able to understand the new technologies as they come out.

Although you have enough information in your head to keep your current school technologies working, you understand that you will probably have to take some upgrade courses in the future.
