Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You allow the production to move on and take the heat from the producer later.

This is the real-life decision made by Ashley Hathaway. "I was doing a commercial once. We were in the 13th hour of production, and the director insisted on getting the shot, even though we were way over budget already, and had an entire crew going on overtime," says Hathaway.

Since the director is normally your boss, they usually make the final decision about when a production is a wrap. Of course, you might feel that a director doesn't have access to information -- like how much has been spent so far -- that would allow them to decide more wisely.

You try to be diplomatic. If the producer has a problem with it, they usually tell the director.
