Real-Life Communication -- Solution

As a cosmetologist, you are always meeting new clients. Also, you are always hoping to build your client base. Repeat customers make successful cosmetologists. The opportunity to provide beauty services for a bridal party is one you don't want to miss.

Here's what you could say to the bride:

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! The big day is all about you. I want to make sure I understand exactly what your needs are and tell you how I can meet them.
I am licensed to provide hair, nail, skin care and make-up services. You can get it all done here, and you don't have to worry about running around on your wedding day.
Consultations are totally free. It's a great way to do a test run before the wedding. We can try out different hairstyles. I can also apply your make-up. We can talk about your preferences and find the colors that would work best for you. You want those wedding photos to be perfect.
We also have a group discount for three or more people. So if you decide to book with me for the bridal party, I can give you a 15 percent discount on all the services. Our salon can accommodate up to 10 clients at once.
I know how busy and stressful organizing a wedding can be. I would love to provide you with some much-needed pampering on your big day.
Tell me more about what you have in mind.

"Making sure everyone is comfortable in the environment, getting along with others, and [being] on the same page with things really helps create a calm, smooth atmosphere," says Kristin Ploof. She is a cosmetologist in Rochester, New York.
