Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You redo the scene, adding in the sound of tiny bells.

You know the exact sound that is missing from the film. You can simply add this sound to the sequence in one more shoot, and you will have a masterpiece. This is the real-life decision that foley artist Gary Boggess would make.

If you didn't know what it was lacking from the sequence or how to make it better, you may have decided not to redo the scene. In this case, the solution is simple, and will add the extra zip to make the sequence perfect.

"You have to be very perceptive and make your decisions on the fly," says Boggess. "You have to be able to work and move on, but if you see something that could be improved then you've got to make the decision to do it."
