An experienced soccer coach understands that a "one size fits all" approach does not work with different age groups. They must tailor their coaching instruction based on a solid understanding of the differences between ages, sexes and individual traits.

Below you will find descriptions of four different age groups. Your challenge is to match the correct behavior pattern with the right age group. Ready?

10 to 12Highly critical of others; is achievement-oriented; needs goals to strive for; is aggressive, independent, bossy (or timid); needing to win grows in importance
12 to 14Has several friends; responds to peer pressures; listens and asks relevant questions; develops ball control; becomes more competitive; accepts group criticism
