As a baker, you have to learn not only to create the freshest, tastiest foods but also how to describe and explain them to your customers.

You'll want to develop a rich vocabulary that will help entice customers into trying your new bread or pastry.

This isn't as easy as it may sound. The person you are trying to lure may have different definitions of certain words. So you have to make yourself very clear.

You have recently opened your own bakeshop in a downtown corner store. It's called Baker's Delight. You are getting a regular stream of customers but you want to bring even more people into the shop. You decide to print up a brochure describing several of your best-selling products. These include loaves of rye bread, as well as focaccia bread and biscotti.

Each of these products is unique and has something special to recommend it to the customer. You want to come up with good descriptions no longer than 50 words each. Here is a list of some key points about each of the products to get you started:

Rye bread
Baked continuously throughout the day, so a fresh loaf is always available. Made with fresh ingredients. It's a healthy food, and most people who try it buy it regularly. A fresh loaf is a great thing unto itself -- it's big and warm, and most customers are reaching in for a nibble before they get the loaf out of the store.
Focaccia bread
A traditional favorite in Italy, much like pizza crust bread only baked with olive oil and other flavorings added in. Made in several varieties -- you change the ingredients daily. A great appetizer at a dinner party, an accompaniment to a meal, or, with fresh vegetables on top, a great summertime meal unto itself.
Biscotti
Another Italian classic, this is a type of cookie traditionally used for dipping in tea or coffee. Bursting with flavor, these cookies are usually hard and crunchy, but you have begun to make a softer version as well that can stand alone as a dessert item. Kids love them and because they are made with almond, vanilla and other flavors, they contain much less sugar than regular cookies.

Now, start writing the text for the brochure. Remember to be detailed, and try to appeal to as many of the readers' senses as possible.
