You work as a telecommunication technician for a large telecommunications company. Today, you're testing a line that has been reported as faulty. The specs for a working line are as follows:

V = voltage = 40 volts
i = current = 20 amps
R = resistance = 2 ohms

Higher resistance (weaker lines) can be caused by water in and around the line. This is a common problem in the fall. You're sure that this is the problem, but you need to confirm your intuition.

The equipment you're using measures current, not resistance. You need to do a quick calculation to determine the resistance. You also need to determine the percentage difference between the resistance levels.

Test results:

V = 40
i = 10

Formula for resistance:

V = R x i

What is the resistance? What is the difference between the resistance levels? Is your hunch correct?
