Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Here's what our handout looks like:

It's almost time to vote again. Don't miss this opportunity to make your voice heard!

Voting is a simple process. You give us your opinion and we'll put it to work for you. But first, you have to register to vote.

Registration is easy! All you need to do is contact your local supervisor of elections' office. We can help you get registered in time to vote. Then you can make your voice heard!

Still have questions? Don't worry. Staff will be available at all voting locations to answer your questions. They can even help you cast your vote. We want to make it easy for you to be heard. We're here to help.

Don't miss this opportunity to put your opinions to work for you. Register to vote today. Then join us at the next election. You can make a difference!

"Written communications are a very important part of this job," says Janet Willwerth. She is an election supervisor. "From letters to training manuals, we've got to keep in touch with the constituents and keep records of the elections. Communication is one of the basic challenges of this job. People are coming in and there is a very short amount of time to present them all of the information that they need."
