Real-Life Communication

You are the hand faller with the most experience in the crew. You have been put in charge of the day's work operations. This means that you must communicate the day's "pre-job safety plan" to the other workers.

This involves defining how the site should be logged and stipulating how hazards should be addressed. Additionally, each faller is assigned a buddy who keeps in contact with them during the day. The plan also requires that each faller carry a whistle to use in case of emergency, as well as a two-way radio that allows them to communicate with other members of the team.

Your role is to ensure that each faller understands all of the items in the safety plan. However, one faller does not speak English very well. You are not sure if he understood what you said when you explained the plan.

What can you do to be sure this faller understands the safety plan?
