Real-Life Decision Making

You are a special education teacher. You are responsible for a number of special needs students. Many times, these students have teacher's aides that work with them. Sometimes three or four of them share a teacher's aide.

Some have physiotherapists, speech pathologists, counselors and others from various specialized professions. Each of these aides has a special rapport with the student. You trust their opinions on where the students are emotionally, physically, educationally and socially.

Each child is required to have various reports written up for them during the year. These reports help determine the child's needs.

Linda Underwood is a special education teacher at a high school. She says she is responsible for the final decisions, but she relies on her team to give her accurate information. "These decisions are important in making sure we are consistent and clear in our approach," she says.

You need to figure out the quickest and most accurate way to get the information you need out of each team member.

What do you do?
