Pool and Spa Operator

Money & Outlook

Insider Info

Hard data on pool operators is hard to come by.

Lester Kowalsky is the chairman of the board of directors at a pool association. "There are more pools being built and there are a lot of people that they're looking for each year, so I imagine the job outlook is fairly good," he says.

Not all pool operators are simply helpers who take care of the pool. Some are facility managers. As well, salaries differ for public pool operators and residential pool operators.

Without certification, says Kowalsky, pool operators generally work in the residential area for the minimum hourly wage.

Earnings and employment information from the U.S. Department of Labor is not available for this field at this time.
