Additional Information

"I don't recommend trying to do this job with just a 12th grade education," says food broker Darren Pallen. "It's always great to get as much education as possible. And I find that people are more comfortable dealing with those who have a higher education."

Food broker Barbara Johnson agrees. "Everyone has to have a four-year degree these days or the distributors won't touch them."

She suggests pursuing a degree in hospitality, nutrition or marketing.
