Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You stay in the U.S. and continue managing the football team.

You have been managing the football team quite successfully. You feel a lot of that has to do with your experience as a football player.

You feel confident in all of your managing skills because you know the sport of football so well. You know the plays, the positions, what the coaches and players are thinking and feeling. You know football better than any other sport and much better than the sport of swimming. You do not feel you can offer the same caliber of management to the swim team.

The other reason you decided to stay in the U.S. was the future employment opportunities. The U.S. spends more on its sports organizations. You believe you will have more opportunities to advance in the U.S. than you would in Australia.

"In Western Australia, there are limited opportunities for managers of sports organizations due to the comparatively small population base," says Sue Coyler. "Sport management career opportunities are greater in the eastern states of Australia due to the larger population."

You stay with the football team. As time goes on, you are offered incredible positions with bigger and better teams. You feel the reason behind your popularity is because you stayed with the sport you play, and know best.
