Real-Life Decision Making

You are a student in your final semester of market research. As a term project, your professor has assigned you to do some consulting work for real clients. He assigns you to work for a woman who is preparing a report on her department.

A problem develops because some of the people you interviewed misunderstood your questionnaire. The data is all wrong. If you use the data, you won't be reporting things accurately to the client or her boss.

When you consult your professor about the problem, he seems more interested in impressing the client's boss than giving correct data. He developed the format for the questionnaire that bombed, and he doesn't want to look bad. He tells you to go with the incorrect data and reminds you that your grade depends on making him look good.

The time comes for the presentation to the client. You know that if you give the client the data as it is, it will make her look bad. It could even get her fired.

What do you do?
